Medication Access Program

If you’re a patient having trouble paying for your prescription medications,
the Greater Williamsburg Medication Access Program (GWMAP) can help.
Through a grant from the Williamsburg Community Health Foundation,
GWMAP connects uninsured and under-insured patients with pharmaceutical companies to get free or low-cost prescriptions.
Olde Towne Medical Center is
one of seven GWMAP providers in the greater Williamsburg area.
Patients need only a valid prescription to apply;
the application process
will then be completed by Olde Towne staff.
This service is not only for OTMC patients, but for patients with a prescription from any physician in the service area.
The Greater Williamsburg Medication Access Program, administered by the
Virginia Health Care Foundation, uses a state-of-the-art computer database
called The Pharmacy Connection (TPC) to streamline the application process,
making it more efficient. This enables Olde Towne to handle a much larger volume
of patients than in the past, so doctors can refer any number of patients to
Olde Towne to apply for the program. The application process takes from
four-to-six weeks, and can provide up to a 90-day supply of the medications.
For information about GWMAP, call Georgia Mamangakis, Director of the Medication Access Program at 259-3256.
