27th Annual

OTMDC Golf Challenge
Join us on May 11, 2022
For a fun day on the links to support Olde Towne!

Founded 28 years ago, and located nearby at the intersection of Longhill and Olde Towne Roads, Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center (OTMDC) is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 community health center. Olde Towne provides compassionate and comprehensive medical, dental and vision care to underinsured and uninsured individuals and their families in the greater Williamsburg community. Some of these OTMDC patients may be your lawn maintenance laborers, home service providers or staff in your favorite restaurants.

Patients pay a modest sliding fee based on their income. No one is ever turned away due to financial challenges.

In 2021, OTMDC saw 7,685 patients, provided 11,017 patient visits and distributed 2,798 prescriptions - significantly benefiting our community by increasing wellness, decreasing health disparities, improving patient health, keeping people working and lowering health care costs.

2021 was defined by Year 2 of the COVID pandemic.

Protocols for virus containment significantly increased operating costs

The waves of Delta and Omicron variants put the staff under constant stress to provide quality health care to patients while managing the effects of the virus on themselves and their families.

OTMDC expended substantial support to help local community organizations with vaccine efforts

OTMDC responded with resilience and ingenuity to provide telemedicine, tele-dentistry, curbside rapid testing and PCR testing

2022 will be the 3rd year of contending with COVID. Although the Omicron impact is subsiding in James City County, the pandemic will be here for the foreseeable future. New and formidable variants are inevitable; their transmissibility and lethality are uncertain.

Despite the challenges, OTMDC will continue to expand its efforts by increasing access to mental health services and focusing on integrated health care which goes beyond just identifying and treating symptoms to advising on health care behavior.

This is the MGA’s 27th year supporting OTMDC through the “MGA-OTMDC Challenge”, which includes a Residents Campaign and a Golf Tournament supported by local businesses.

In April of 2021, Ford’s Colony residents responded to the pandemic challenge with incredible generosity and contributed $43,380. The combined MGA 2021 contribution to OTMDC from the Residents Campaign and Golf Tournament was $75,000 – the second highest ever, bringing the 26-year MGA contribution total to over $1.2M.

The 2021 result was achieved by 283 donors who made an average contribution of $152. If we have an additional 50 donors in 2022 at that average contribution, we can generate an incremental $7,600, putting us over the $50,000 mark.

Our help needs to continue. It is crucial to OTMDC’s ability to continue to expand what they do and whom they serve. Our continued support will make a positive difference in the lives of those who might otherwise have little or no means to pay for medical, dental and vision care.

OTMDC is deeply grateful for your support.
